CDMP Data Import

Data imports enables you to import new records (or) update existing data through a CSV file. This is particularly useful when migrating from other platforms to D·engage, or performing mass updates to a large chunks od records. The process is quite self explanatory and can be done by following simple steps.

  1. Select “imports” under Dataspace > Data management from the left menu bar. 
  2. You’ll be redirected to the “Logs” page as shown below:

  3. Click the “New Import” button at the top right to begin importing a new file.
  4. You can choose the import type as “Contacts”, “Tokens”, “Tables”, “Products” or “orders”.

  5. On hovering over any option you'll be able to see the “ See sample file” option.
            
  1. You can download the sample CSV file by clicking on the “See Sample file” option.
  2. Note:  Sample files are used for importing purposes for different “Imports” options. You can import “.CSV” or “.Zip” files
  3. By clicking on any import option, an Upload file pop-up will show.
  4. Depending upon your preference, you can upload the file as either “Manual” or “Automated”.


Manual Import:

  1. You can choose the “drag & Drop files” option or choose the “select” option for uploading files.
    Note: Make sure to  upload a file with the correct format

  2. Once you've dropped the file, the system will show the upload progress.
           
  1. In case you have selected the incorrect file format, the system will show the prompt message.
           
  1. After a successful file upload, you'll see the “details” page. 
          
  1. You can select options depending on your choice.

Column Mapping

  1. On the details page, click on the “Next page to continue to the mapping page.
  2. The mapping page shows the details of uploaded file columns and values.
  3. You can change columns by selecting options from “drop-down lists” from respective columns.
  4. Add Constant Column: There’s also an option to add the constant column. You can add as many columns as you want. For this just select the column from the drop-down menu and assign a value to it.

  5. Hit the “Save” button to continue. 


          


  1. The added column will be displayed on the Mapping page. 
  1. Tags: By clicking the “Next” option from the mapping page,  you’ll be redirected to the “Tags” page (in the case of the “contacts” and “token” options). 

  2. From here, you can add tags to the audience by entering tags into the “Add these tags to audiences” option. 

           

  1. You can also remove the audience from certain tags by adding “tags” in the “Remove these tags from audiences” option. 

  2. To update the key-value tags, you can choose a value from the drop-down.

  3. For example, you can add details in the “time” option in the key-value tag. The respective value will be added to the “audience” section once the import is completed.

  4. Now click the “Start import” option to begin the import.

  5. Once the import process has started the status will be changed to “Progress”.

  6. The next status of import can be either “Completed’ or “Error” as shown below.

          


  1. If the import has been completed the status will be changed to“Completed” and you can click on the record to view details of the import.

           

  1. In case of incomplete import, the status will be changed to “Error”. To view the details of the error, click on the record. 

  2. Download the uploaded file,  fix errors, and upload again to complete the import.

  3. You can view completed imports on the log page.

  4. Filter Import: You can filter the import by choosing values from the “Source, Upload By, and status” drop-down.

  5. Hit Apply button to get filtered imports.

Tags:

  1. Select “Tags” under Dataspace > Audience from the left menu bar.

        

  1. You can select the Tag type as either “list” or “Key-value”.

  2. You can select audience type either “Contact specific” or “Device Specific”.

           



  1. Once the tag is created, it will be displayed in the tags list.
    Note: You can also update and delete these tags.

Audience:

  1. Sample audience is displayed for the tags that have been added durning import.
  2. This audience is updated on updating tags .
