New Features Available with this Release:

  • Importing and Using Data from Amazon Redshift and Google Big Query

  • Sending Push Notifications to Huawei Devices

  • Using Reply-To Address in Email

We're happy to announce that you you can use the "Remote Sources" feature to import data from Amazon Redshift and Google Big Query. You can write your own database query (SQL script) to retrieve data from a remote data source and use that data to build audiences to be used in your cross-channel campaigns.

We also have extended our Push Notifications capabilities and added the Huawei SDK allowing you to send Push Notifications to Huawei devices.

Additional improvement was made to Email Content creation, from now on you can add "Reply-to" address to get feedbacks from your email sends.


Adding Remote Data Sources

You can use your data located in Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift from the dEngage platform. Please follow the instructions below in order to create and use your data located in remote sources.

Prerequisites

  • Create a Remote Source from the Web UI to configure and connect your Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift account with dEngage
  • Create an Automated Data Job to import data from a remote data source by building an SQL query

Adding Google BigQuery as a Remote Data Source

  1. Go to Settings > Remote Sources
  2. Click Add and Select Google BigQuery
  3. Paste your Key Json to the text editor

Adding Amazon Redshift as a Remote Data Source

  1. Go to Settings > Remote Sources
  2. Click Add and Select Amazon Redshift
  3. Fill out the form and enter your Amazon Redshift credentials

Importing Data from your Remote Data Sources

Once you have created and configured Google BigQuery or Amazon Redshift to your account, you can use Automated Jobs from the web UI in order to import your data from these remote sources.

  1. Go to Data Space > Automated Jobs 
  2. Click Add to create a new job
  3. Drag and drop the "Audience Builder" or "Data Builder" node to import your data
  4. Select the "Create from Remote Source" option
  5. Import data from the selected Remote Source by building an SQL query
  6. Click "Validate and Preview" once you have built your query

Send Push Notifications to Huawei Devices

In addition to Android and iOS you can now send Push Notifications to Huawei devices and get reports back from the dEngage platform. 

Prerequisites

  • You must integrate the Huawei SDK to your mobile app to send Push Notifications. Please follow the instructions on the Huawei SDK Setup page.
  • Follow the steps below to add a new push application from the Web UI.

Creating a Huawei Push Application

  1. Go to Settings > Applications 
  2. Click Add and select Android (Huawei)

3. Please fill in the required fields in the form

  • Name: Enter a name for your new push application
  • Logo: Enter a URL for the logo
  • Status: Change status to Active to activate the application in your account
  • App ID & App Secret: Enter the App ID and App Secret

4. Click Save

Email Reply-To Address

From now on, you can add a "Reply-To" address when creating your email content. Please fill the "Reply-To" field with an email address to get feedbacks from your email.
