Improvements to Mobile Push Notifications & Automated Data Jobs

We’re happy to announce the arrival of mobile “Rich(er) Push Notifications”, starting with a Carousel layout for both Android and iOS platforms. Carousel push notifications enable you to make a single push message more engaging and interactive than ever before. In a carousel push notification, you can include two or more images with their own corresponding call to actions. User, on receiving such a notification, can navigate through these images without even opening your app. If the user finds one of the images interesting they can click specifically on that, which you can deep-link appropriately. 

Action Buttons were also added to Rich Notifications. 

Additional improvements were made to Automated Data Jobs. You can now automatically trigger a Campaign directly from an automated data workflow with the introduction of the Fire Campaign option.


Push Notification Types

We've added new features to our existing Push Notification layouts. Select a Notification Type when creating a Push Notification Content.

We now offer 3 different types of notifications: 

  1. Text: Select Text layout to send a basic notification without image or action buttons. 
  2. Rich: Select Rich layout to send a push notification with image and/or action buttons.
  3. Carousel: Select Carousel layout to send more than one image as slider. 

Adding Action Buttons to Push Notifications

With the new modifications to Push Content you can now add action buttons to Rich Notifications. 

  1. Select Rich as the type of content.
  2. Select from the 3 types of predefined action buttons: Yes/No, Confirm or Decline. You can change the text for action buttons. 

Select the Custom Buttons option to create new button type.


Creating a Carousel Push Notification

In a carousel push notification, you can include two or more images with their own corresponding call to actions. User, on receiving such a notification, can navigate through these images without even opening your app. If the user finds one of the images interesting they can click specifically on that, which you can deep-link appropriately.

  1. When creating a push content with carousel type, you can see the button in application setting’s frame. You can click this button to add carousel content.
  2. You can see the changes and previews by application type from the preview panel.
  3. Once you have entered all the notification settings, you can save your content to send.

Changes to Push Reports

Application selection was added to the Push Reports. You can view the reports separately according to the applications.

Improvements to Automated Data Jobs

Fire Campaign

From now on, a recurring campaign can be triggered from an automated job.

  1. First create a Campaign with an "Externally Trigger" option.

2. Once you have created a recurring campaign, create an automated job including at least one Fire Campaign node. Make sure you have added an Audience Builder node before the Fire Campaign node.

Drop Condition

In recurring campaigns, you can filter and drop the contacts who are no longer relevant. You can select a Table, Segment or Campaign filter as a drop condition.
